Project Within the cooperation program of Mongolian-Australian development, the Society had successfully implemented a “Family School” project among families of Songino Kharkhan District of the Capital City.

During the project implementation a kindergarten building dedicated to school drop-outs and small children who are do not have day time care was built in the district’s 10th horoo and presented to the district administration. First stage training and initial activities were fully financed and the pupils were provided with training books and materials. Now the care center has the possibility to independently carry out activities. In addition first medical aid point and drug store were established at the center.

On the basis of a survey done among the district’s poor and very poor families, health preventive check ups were carried for several times in cooperation with the district’s hospital, and a seminar on the theme of “Healthy body and clever sense” was organized.

After organizing a meeting among the district’s women who are heading the families with no income, the Society has been paying more attention for mediating them in workplaces and helping them to run small and medium size enterprises. In the first stage, it has started some activities, including training their children in vocational skills and to creating a cooperative to allocate small and medium size loans. As result of these activities, one person was allowed to get a loan for running a confectioner’s shop and it resulted in creation of 8 new jobs.

 

In the future, the Society is planning to expand the aforementioned project in other districts of the Capital City and is seeking a potential partner to cooperate in this field.
