Govt gives $34m to keep ABC centres open

The federal government will provide an additional $34 million to keep 241 unprofitable ABC Learning centres open until March next year.

The decision follows an announcement by the childcare company’s receiver that 55 centres will close from January 1.

The receiver for ABC Learning had earlier said 55 childcare centres will close.

ABC receiver Chris Honey, of McGrathNicol, on Wednesday outlined a plan to provide a childcare place for every child using the company’s services into 2009.

Under the plan, 720 centres will remain within the ABC Learning Group and 55 will close and be consolidated into nearby ABC centres.

Mr Honey said 80 per cent of staff from closing centres would be retained at nearby centres.

He said all children at the 55 centres to close would be offered places at ABC centres within 2.5km of existing ones.

“With the support of ABC Learning Group’s banks and the federal government, we have devised a recovery plan to provide childcare places for every ABC family into 2009,” Mr Honey said.

“Today we are in a much better position than we could ever have imagined just four weeks ago when we were first appointed as receivers and managers.

“We can now shift our focus to transitioning the new ABC Learning Group business out of receivership in 2009.”

Mr Honey said he had sought to minimise the impact on families.

“We have undertaken a detailed review of the consolidating centres and identified capacity at neighbouring centres,” he said.

“We will work closely with parents to ensure their child’s new ABC centre is as close as possible to the previous location.

“I appreciate this solution is not perfect, as some children will need to move to other centres, however we have sought to minimise the impact on families and consider it is the best outcome in the circumstances.”

He said it was possible that among the 241 centres that were not viable under the ABC’s existing business model there were some that could be made profitable and taken out of receivership under an alternative model.

“These centres will continue to trade into 2009 under an arrangement to be announced by the government later today,” he said.

“We are extremely appreciative of the ongoing support of the Australian government throughout this difficult process.”

Mr Honey told reporters that from the 55 centres to close, 100 staff would lose their jobs, 400 would be redeployed on January 1 and 4,000 children would be relocated to other centres.

He said minimising the job losses had been “quite a feat, if you consider this was a corporate collapse, a business in a mess when we took over”.

Mr Honey said in summary that of the 386 centres that were under review, 55 would close, 64 would remain open, 21 would be kept open by the Defence Department, 241 would be subject to a federal government announcement on Wednesday and five were not badged ABC centres.

2005 онд НҮБ-ын Ерөнхий Ассамблейн 60 дугаар чуулганы үеэр Нью-Йорк хотноо Монгол Улсын Ерөнхийлөгч Н.Энхбаяр Австралийн тэр үеийн Ерөнхий сайд Жон Ховардтай /2007 онд Ноён Кевин Радд сонгогдсон/ уулзах үед  тэрээр  Монголд өрнөсөн ардчиллыг Австрали Улс анхнаас нь дэмжиж ирсэнийг цохон тэмдэглээд Монголын эдийн засгийн хөгжилд Австрали улс  хувь нэмрээ оруулах, хамтран ажиллах хүсэлтэй байдгаа илэрхийлж, түүний хариуд  Ерөнхийлөгч Н.Энхбаяр хоёр орны хооронд өндөр, дээд хэмжээний уулзалтын давтамжийг хадгалах, сургалтын тэтгэлэгт хөтөлбөрийг өргөжүүлэхийг санал болгосон ажээ.

Монгол Улсын стратегийн Тавантолгой, Оюутолгой болон бусад ордуудад хөрөнгө оруулах сонирхолоо илэрхийлж байсан Рио Тинто, Би-Эйч-Пи Биллитон зэрэг Австралийн дэлхийд тэргүүлдэг уул уурхайн томоохон компаниудын ашиг сонирхолоос гадна манай улсын ирээдүй хойчболсон оюутан залуусын хувьд боловсрол, шинжлэх ухааны салбартаа дэлхийн хэмжээнд хүлээн зөвшөөрөгдөхүйц өндөр боловсрол эзэмшин, оюуны хөрөнгө оруулалт хийхийн чухлыг онцлон чухалчилж байгаагаа Австралийн тал энэ онд дахин илэрхийлсэн байна.

2008 оны 9 сарын 3-нд Монгол Улсын Ерөнхийлөгч Н.Энхбаярт Австрали Улсаас Монгол Улсад суух Онц бөгөөд Бүрэн эрхт Элчин сайд Петер Роуве (Tэрээр Өмнөд Солонгос улсад байршилтайгаар үйл ажиллагаагаа явуулдаг бөгөөд Монголын хэргийг давхар хариуцан ажилладаг)  итгэмжлэх жуух бичгээ барих үед Ерөнхийлөгч Н.Энхбаяр:

“Таныг Элчин сайдаар ажиллах хугацаанд манай хоёр орны харилцаа хамтын ажиллагаа улам бүр өргөжин, хөгжинө гэж найдаж байна. Австрали улс манайхаас оюутан сургадагт баяртай байдаг. Эдийн засгийн хамтын ажиллагаа хоёр талын харилцааны чухал хэсэг. Үүн дотор уул уурхайн салбар ихээхэн чухал. Мөн дэлхийн цаг уурын дулаарлын талаар санаачилсан Зүүн хойд Азийн дээд хэмжээний уулзалтыг маань манай хөрш орнуудын Төрийн тэргүүнүүд дэмжиж байгаагаа илэрхийлсэн. Ирэх жил болох энэхүү дээд хэмжээний уулзалтад Автсрали Улс оролцвол баяртай байна” хэмээн өгүүлжээ.

Элчин сайд П.Роуве: “Элчин сайдаар томилогдон хоёр дахь удаагаа Монголд ирж байгаадаа баяртай байна. Цаг уурын өөрчлөлтийн асуудал эдийн засгийн хувьд ч, стратегийн хувьд ч чухал ач холбогдолтой. Австрали улс цаг уурын өөрчлөлт, байгаль орчны асуудалд онцгой анхаарал тавьдаг” гээд энэ талаар бүс нутгийн дээд хэмжээний уулзалт санаачилсанд Монгол Улсын Төрийн тэргүүнд талархал илэрхийлсэн байна.

Хоёр орны харилцаанд шинэ хуудас нээсэн хамгийн сүүлийн нэгэн үйл явдал нь Монгол улсын Засгийн газар хоёр орны харилцаа, хамтын ажиллагаанд өндөр ач холбогдол өгч байгаагийн илэрхийлэл болгож  Монгол Улсаас Австрали Улсад ажиллах  Элчин сайдын яамаа 2008 оны 8 дугаар сарын 25-ны єдрєєс Канберра хотноо албан ёсоор нээсэн явдал юм.

Монгол Улсаас Австрали Улсад суух Онц бөгөөд бүрэн эрхт элчин сайд Ц.Жамбалдорж 2008 оны 10 дугаар сарын 30-ны өдөр Австрали Улсын Амбан захирагч хатагтай Квентин Брайст Итгэмжлэх жуух бичгээ барьж эдийн засаг, худалдааны хамтын ажиллагааг өргөжүүлэх, австралийн хөрөнгө оруулалтыг уул уурхай, хөдөө аж ахуйн салбарт түлхүү оруулах сонирхолтой байгаагаа илэрхийлсэн байна. Уг өдрийн хүлээн авалтанд Австрали дахь Монголын Өргөмжит консул Петр Слоун, гэргийн хамт, мөн Монгол улсын засгийн газрын биет төлөөлөгчид болон Австрали Монголын хамтын харилцаанд нөлөө бүхий бусад хүмүүс мөн уригдан оролцжээ. Шинэ элчин сайд Ц.Жамбалдорж нь урьд нь Вашингтон, Лондонд ажиллаж байсан олон жилийн туршлагатай хүн бөгөөд хоёр орны хамтын харилцаанд чухал нөлөө үзүүлнэ хэмээн найдаж байна.

Хүн ба кенгуру 150 сая жилийн тэртээ ойр төрөл байсныг кенгурун генийн судлалын төвийн мэргэжилтнүүд тогтоожээ. Эрдэмтдийн үзэж буйгаар кенгуру анх Хятадын нутагт үүсээд дараа нь Америкаар дамжиж Австрали, Антарктидад нутагшсан аж. Эрдэмтдийн сүүлийн судалгаа аварга кенгуруны мөхлийн асуудалд хариу өгсөн юм. Балар эртний аварга кенгуру цаг уурын өөрчлөлтөөс бус хүний үйл ажиллагаанаас үүдэлтэй хэмжээнээс хэтэрсэн агнуурын үр дагаврын улмаас мөхжээ.
Эрдэмтэд 2000 онд Тасманийн зүүн хойд зүгийн ойн нэгэн агуйгаас олдсон аварга кенгурун гавлын судалгааны дүнд түүний мөхлийн учир шалтгааныг тогтоосон юм. Палеонтологичдын тооцоолсноор энэхүү гавал ойролцоогоор 41 мянган жилийн настай аж.

Рио тинто Монгол дахь хөрөнгө оруулалтаа зогсооно гэв
Санхүүгийн хямралаас улбаалсан дэлхийн эдийн засгийн уналт нь уул уурхайн салбарт улам хүчтэй мэдрэгдэж эхлээд байна. Үүний нэгэн тод жишээ нь олон улсын санхүүгийн зах зээлд арилжаалагдаж буй уул уурхайн салбарын тэргүүлэгч компаниудын хувьцааны ханшийн уналт юм. Энэхүү уналтын гол шалтгаан нь дэлхийн зах зээл дээрх түүхий эд, түүний дотор үнэт металлын үнийн огцом уналт.
Энэ байдал сүүлийн зургаан сарын туршид ажиглагдаж байна. Хөгжиж буй орнуудын эдийн засгийн үсрэнгүй өсөлтөөс хамааран ашигт малтмалын зах зээлийн үнэ сүүлийн таван жилийн туршид урьд өмнө байгаагүй өндөр түвшинд очиж өнгөрсөн оны тавдугаар сард уул уурхайн компаниудын хувьцааны ханш дэлхийн хөрөнгийн биржүүдэд оргил цэгтээ хүрсэн.
Зэсийн үнэ оргил үедээ 8812 ам.долларт хүрсэн бол аравдугаар сарын 31-ний байдлаар 4498 ам.доллар болж даруй 49 хувиар буурав.АНУ-ын санхүүгийн хямралыг даган ашигт малтмалын хамгийн том худалдан авагч, хэрэглэгч болох БНХАУ-ын эдийн засгийн өсөлт зогсонги байдалд орох магадлал өндөр байгаа нь тус салбарт сөргөөр нөлөөлж байна. Ирэх онд ч урд хөршийн эдийн засгийн өсөлт өмнөх жилүүдийн дунджаас доогуур байна гэдэг нь Олон улсын валютын сан болон бусад байгууллагаас хийсэн судалгаанаас харагдаж байна. Ийм нөхцөл байдлаас хамааран энэ оны тавдугаар сараас хойш уул уурхайн салбарт үйл ажиллагаа явуулж буй дэлхийн тэргүүлэгч компанийн зах зээлийн үнэлгээ огцом “ганхаж” Rio Tinto компанийн хувьцаа 59 хувиар, ВНР-ийн хувьцаа 68 хувиар тус тус унаад байна. Тэгвэл бусад компаниудын хувьд ч байдал хүндрэв. Казахстан Улсын “Kazakhmys” компанийн хувьцаа сүүлийн зургаан сарын дотор 85 хувиар унажээ. Щвейцари улсад төвтэй XSTRATA-ийн хувьцаа мөн л огцом унаж тус компанийн зах зээлийн үнэлгээ 78 хувиар буурав.
Энэхүү хүнд цаг үеийг гэтлэн туулахын тулд эдгээр компани зардал ихтэй ордуудыг ашиглахаас татгалзаж эхлээд байгаа бөгөөд ашигт малтмалын үнэ зах зээл дээр эргэн өсөх үед ашиглах бодлогыг барьж байгаа нь ажиглагдаж байна. Мөн хямралаас шалтгаалан уул уурхайн жижиг компанийн санхүүгийн байдал хүндэрч, санхүүгийн хувьд илүү боломжтой компанид орд газраа зарах, эсвэл үйл ажиллагаагаа нэгтгэх замаар л “амь гарах” нөхцөл бүрдээд байгааг ч судлаачид тэмдэглэж буй.

Rio Tinto компанийн гүйцэтгэх захирал Том Албанес “Ашигт малтмалын үнэ өсөх хүртэл шинээр орд ашиглалтад оруулах зорилгоор хөрөнгө оруулалт хийхгүй” гэж мэдэгдсэн талаар FINANCIAL TIMES сонины өнгөрсөн сарын 31-ний өдрийн дугаарт нийтэлсэн өгүүлэлд цохон тэмдэглэсэн байна. Тус сонинд нийтлэгдсэн дээрх өгүүлэлд тэмдэглэснээр олон жилийн туршид ашиглахаар яригдаж буй Конго улс болон Монгол дахь зэсийн ордуудын төслийн талаар Rio Tinto компанийн гүйцэтгэх захирал ярьсан гэж үзсэн байна.

Манай улсад хєрєнгє оруулах сонирхолтой байсан уул уурхайн компаниудын эздийн бодол хэвээр байгаа эсэх нь эргэлзээтэй болжээ

Дэлхийн “хэтэвч” 1929 оны их хямралаас хойш 79 жилийн дараа дахин нимгэрлээ. Санхvvгийн зах зээлийн хоосрол даяаршлын хурдаар хэмжигдэж, хамгийн хvчирхэг гvрний 20-иод томоохон банк хэдийнэ дампуурлаа зарлав. Банкнаас зээл авч чадахаа больсноос тивvvдийн vйлдвэрлэгчид ядуурч, єрхvvдийнх нь ч хоолны ширээний цэс єдєр єдрєєр цєєрсєєр байна. Vйлдвэрлэлийн эрэлт багассанаас тvvхий эдийн vнэ “хальтирч”, гуравхан сарын дотор зэсийн ханш 4000-5000 “ногоон”-оор хайчлагдлаа. Лондоны металлын биржид єчигдєр Улаанбаатарын 13:28 цагийн байдлаар тонн зэс 3960 ам.долларын ханштай байв. Єнгєрсєн долдугаар сард ханш нь 8900 ам.доллар хvрсэн билээ. Манай улс эл металлын vнийг 2800 ам.доллараас давсан тохиолдолд 68 хувийн татвар авч, єнєєх хоёр их намын мєрийн хєтєлбєр дэх хvvхэд, гэр бvлийн мєнгийг олгож байгаа. Vнэ буурсаар байвал бэлэн мєнгєний хєтєлбєрvvд хэрэгжих боломжгvй юм. Энэ бол бидний ємнє тулгарсан єнгєц асуудал.

Энэ тухайд Ерєнхий сайд С.Баяр “1,5 сая тєгрєгийг иргэдэд єгєхийн ємнє манай улсад хєрєнгє оруулах сонирхолтой байсан компаниудын бодол хэвээрээ эсэхийг мэдэх хэрэгтэй. Тавдугаар сард Оросын зэсийн компани болон Уралын уул уурхай, металлын компаниудын зугээс 650 сая ам.долларын хєрєнгє оруулалттай, жилд 300,000 тоннын хvчин чадлаар ажиллах цайрын шинэ vйлдвэрийг хамтын хvчээр барьж босгож байгаа тухайгаа зарласан байна.

Рио Тинтог Хятадууд эзэмших үү?

Сүүлийн үед дэлхийн хамгийн том уул уурхайн 2 компани ВНР болон Рио Тинто, Хятадын  Улсын мэдлийн томоохон хөрөнгө оруулагч корпораци China Investment Corp (CIC) тойрсон үйл явдал онцгой анхаарал татах боллоо.

Энэхүү болж байгаа үйл явдал монгол улсад ч бас тодорхой хэмжээгээр нөлөөлөхөөр аж.

Үйл явдал бидний сайн мэдэх Рио Тинто компанийн хувьцааг өрсөлдөгч болох ВНР компани нь 103 биллион доллар буюу 50 биллион паундаар худалдан авах саналыг 2007 оны 11 сарын 12 нд  тавьсанд байдаг. Энэхүү санал бол Британийн Vodafone компани 203 биллион доллараар  Mannesmann компанийг худалдан авсаны дараа орох рекорд үнэ аж.

Энэ 2 компани дэлхийн гангийн үйлдвэрлэлийн гол түүхий эд болох төмрийн хүдрийн 36 хувийг болон зэс хөнгөн цагаан бусад эрдэс баялагийн өндөр хувийг эзэмшдэг бөгөөд хоорондоо нэгдсэн тохиолдолд нийтдээ 350 биллион доллараар үнэлэгдсэн компани (түүний дараа орох компани дээрх хоёроос 3 дахин жижиг байх болно ) шинээр төрөн гарч  Хятад , Энэтхэг,Орос гэх мэт шинээр өндөр хурдацтай хөгжиж байгаа орнуудын эдийн засгийн өсөлтийн амин чухал хэрэглэгдэхүүн болох дээрх эрдэс баялагийн үнийг бүхэлд нь хянах боломж гарч ирж байгаа болно. Харин Рио Тинто компани дээрх саналыг хүлээж аваагүй бөгөөд компанийн үнийг хямд үнэлсэн хэмээн хувьцаа эзэмшигчид нь үзсэн аж.

Ингэмэгц гангийн үйлдвэрийн түүхий эдийнхээ 70 хувийг ВНР копаниас авдаг Хятад улс эхний алхам болгож 500 сая доллараар Рио Тинто компанийн 1% худалдан авсан байна.

Цаг хугацааны хувьд Рио Тинто компани Канадын хөнгөн цагааны томоохон үйлдвэрлэгч компани Алканийг 40 биллион доллараар худалдан авах наймааг дууссаны маргааш өдөр худалдан авах саналаа ВНР тавьсан нь учиртай аж.

Хятадууд ч барьж авсан барьцаа ахиулан Рио Тинтог бүхэлд нь худалдаж авахаар авахаар 200 биллион долларийг Хятадын  Улсын мэдлийн томоохон хөрөнгө оруулагч корпорацид шилжүүлсэн мэдээ дэлхийн хэвлэлүүдийг шуугиулж эхэлсэн бөгөөд Хятадууд албан ёсоор няцааж байгаа аж.

Харин өчигдөр буюу 29 нд ВНР компани худалдан авах саналаа 120 биллион доллар болгож өсгөсөн саналийг тавьсан бөгөөд Рио Тинто компани хариу өгөөгүй байгаа аж.

Рио Тинто компанийн ийнхүү үнэ хүрч байгаа олон том шалтгаануудад дээр дурдсан Канадын Алкан компани мөн Конго Австрали дахь бизнесүүд нь орох аж. Мөн Монголд хөрөнгө оруулалт хийх гэж байгаа нь бас жоохон нэмэр болж байгаа бололтой. ВНР компани нь Рио Тинтог эзэмшсэнээр зардал нэлээн бууруулж өндөр үнээр бүтээгдэхүүнээ зарах боломж нээгдэж байгаа гэж үзэж байх шиг байна. Хятадууд өсөж байгаа түүхий дийн үнийг хязгаарлах цорын ганц боломж бол үнийг тодорхойлогч компаниуудыг хяналтдаа авах гэж үзэж буй бололтой.

Германууд дээрх 2 компани нэгдэх ёсгүй бөгөөд монополийн эсрэг хуулийг зөрчиж байна хэмээн шүүхэд өгөхөөр зэхээд байгаа аж. Солонгосчууд ч бас

ээргүүцээд байгаа аж. Харин Оросын уул уурхайн томчууд болох Базовый Елемент, Полиметаллыхан монголчуудыг рекетлэхээр ирэх долоо хоногт Улаанбаатарт буух аж.

Монголчуудын хувьд Рио Тинто компанийг хятадууд авчихвал Оюутолгойг Хятадууд эзэмшинэ гэсэн үг бөгөөд энэ тохиолдолд Оюунтолгойн гэрээг Рио Тинтотой хийхгүй байх нь ашигтай . Учир нь Хятадууд маш хямд үнээр зэсийг нь худалдаж авах болно. Харин Рио Тинтог ВНР авсан тохиолдолд Оюутолгойн гэрээг Рио Тинтотой хийх нь ашигтай бөгөөд зэсээ өндөр үнээр зарах боломжтой болж байгаа юм.

Ер нь бид Рио Тинтотой гэрээ хийхдээ энэхүү компанийг алсдаа хэн эзэмших нь вэ гэдгийг нь тооцож хийх нь зөв бололтой. Ойрын үед хэний эзэмшилд очих нь тодорхой болоогүй компанитай лав тогтвортой байдлын гэрээ хийж болохгүй нь ойлгомжтой.

Төгсгөлд нь хэлэхэд зэсийг өндөр үнээр зарах сонирхолтой бол өндөр үнээр зарж чаддаг компанитай хамтран ажиллах нь зөв бөгөөд харин зэсийг хямд үнээр авах сонирхолтой Хятад гэх мэт улсуудтай хамтарч ажиллах нь ашиггүй нь илт байна.

Хэдий сонгуулийн тооллого дуусаагүй байгаа боловч 297 санал авч чадсанаар Барак Обама АНУ-ын Ерөнхийлөгчөөр сонгогдох нь тодорхой боллоо.Ийнхүү АНУ түүхэндээ анх удаагаа хар арьст ерөнхийлөгчтэй болж байна. Barack Obama has won the US presidential election for the Democrats, defeating Republican rival John McCain .

Obama, the junior senator from Illinois who defeated Hillary Clinton in the Democrat primaries, will become the first African American president when he is inaugurated in January.

Opinion polls consistently put Obama ahead in the weeks leading up to the election, but the margin of his lead over McCain narrowed ahead of polling day.

Counting showed Obama and his vice-presidential running mate Joe Biden had won key battleground states such as Ohio and Pennsylvania, securing them enough electoral college votes for a clear overall victory.

Obama also won the large, left-leaning state of New York and its 31 electoral votes as expected.

New York has voted Democratic by big margins in presidential elections since 1988 and Obama went into the polling with an almost 30-point edge over McCain.

Obama also won the state of New Hampshire, the north-eastern state known for its independent-minded residents that leaned heavily towards the Democratic hopeful throughout most of the race

Ардчилсан намаас нэр дэвшигч Barack Obama Америкийн ерөнхийлөгчийн сонгуульд дөнгөж сая АНУ-ын орон нутгийн цагаар 11:22 минутанд 306 төлөөлөөгчийн санал, сонгогчийн 51%-иар ялалт байгууллаа. Ингэснээр тэрээр АНУ-ын ерөнхийлөгч болох нь ТОДОРХОЙ боллоо. Түүний гол өрсөлдөгч болох Бүгд найрамдах намын нэр дэвшигч John McCain 155 төлөөлөгч, 48%-ийн санал авч байна (Эх сурвалж www.cnn.com. Энэ бол 61%-ийн тайлан болно. Та бүхэн яг албан ёсны 100%-ийн тайланг өнөөдөр орой үзээрэй).

Дэлхий нийтээрээ энэхүү сонгуульд анхаарлаа хандуулж байна. BBC, CNN, NYTimes, FOX, AP зэрэг бүх хэвлэл мэдээллийн байгууллагууд Barack Obama-г АНУ-ын дараагийн ерөнхийлөгч болж буйг албан ёсоор зарлаж байна. Дөнгөж сая түүний гол өрсөлдөгч John McCain дэлхий нийтэд өөрийн ялагдлаа зарлаж, Barack Obama-д баяр хүргэлээ.

Уг нь энэ удаагийн Америкийн ерөнхийлөгчийн сонгуульд John McCain (Бүгд Найрамдах нам), Barack Obama (Ардчилсан нам), Bob Barr (Либератори нам), Ralph Nader (Бие даагч), Chuck Baldwin (Үндсэн хууль), Cynthia McKinney (Ногоон нам) нарын 6 нэр дэвшигч өрсөлдсөн боловч хоёр гол намын хүчтэй өрсөлдөгчдийн улмаас бусдын нэр нь бараг дуулдагдсангүй. Тус сонгууль олон сонин үйл явдлаар дүүрэн, “хамгийн”, “анхны” гэсэн тодотголтой болж өнгөрлөө. Хэрвээ Barack Obama ялалт байгуулбал “анхны өнгөт, хар арьстай хүн”, хэрвээ John McCain ялалт байгуулбал “хамгийн ахмад, өндөр настай хүн”, мөн эмэгтэй дэд ерөнхийлөгчтэй болох байлаа. Миний бие АНУ-ын ерөнхийлөгчийн сонгуулийг ихэд шимтэн сонирхсоор өнөөдрийг хүрлээ. Ардчилсан намын дотор асар хүчтэй явагдаж, бараг зуузай холбон Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton-ийг ялж байлаа (Hillary Clinton-ийг ялагдлаа хүлээж, Barack Obama-г дэмжих болсныг шөнө 2 цагт Fox News-ээр би үзэж байв). Barack Obama-гийн сонгуульт ажлаар түүнийг дэмжигчид “Yes, we can”, “We are the one” гэсэн дуунууд нь үнэхээр миний сэтгэлийг татаж байлаа. Ялангуяа “Yes, we can” дээр Barack Obama-гийн хэлсэн үгээр дуу болгосон нь ихэд таалагдсан. Энэ дуунаас Barack Obama-г үнэхээр сайн уран илтгэгч, чадвар удирдагчийг мэдэж авсан юм.
Сонгуулийн компанит ажилд Barack Obama, John McCain нарын хувийн дансны мэдээлэл тархсан, нэр дэвшигчдийн хоорондын халз мэтгэлцээнүүд, бие биенээсээ давж ярьсан яриа гээд олон үйл явдал болсон билээ. Хүмүүс, сонин хэвлэлийнх түүнийг янз бүрээр л бичиж, ярьж байлаа. Гэхдээ Barack Obama бол жаргал, зовлонг өөрийн амьдралаараа туулсан удирдагч юм. Ингэж тэрээр удирдан манлайлах ажлаа эхэлж, олон нийтэд танигдах болжээ.
Тэрээр 1996 онд Illionis-ийн сенатороор сонгогдсоноос хойш түүний улс төрийн замнал эхэлж юм. Үүнээс хойшхи түүний сонгуульт ажил, улс төрийн нэр хүнд хэрхэн өссөнийг та бүхэн надаар хэлүүлэлтгүй мэдэх билээ. The number of people who want Australia’s migration intake cut is on the increase, a new university study says.

Since 2004, voters who would like a cut in migration have risen from 34 to 46 per cent, the Swinburne University of Technology research shows.

And NSW is where that opposition is most keenly felt, academic Katharine Betts has told Fairfax newspapers.

In 2006-07, a third of all new migrants chose to make NSW their home, making the effects of population change “more noticeable”, she said.

“People are aware of the extra traffic on the road, and everyone knows someone that can’t find a place to rent,”

    Rudd rolls up migrant welcome mat

    Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has flagged a cut in immigration because of the global financial crisis, faltering economic growth and a rise in unemployment.

    Mr Rudd said the current immigration rate was an increase on the previous year.

    He said that increase was to meet employer demands for more skilled workers, particularly in mining and resource intensive Western Australia and Queensland.

    “As with all previous governments, and mine’s the same, whenever we set immigration targets we will adjust them according to the economic circumstances of the day,” he told the Fairfax Radio Network in Melbourne.

    The 2008-09 Migration Program is set at 190,300 places, representing a 19.8 per cent increase on the 2007-08 program. The figure includes 56,500 places for family migrants sponsored by people already in Australia and 133,500 places for those with special skills.

    But that’s now been criticised as excessively large in a period of economic turmoil.

    Mr Rudd said immigration was not one-size-fits-all across the country and the government would take advice on where skilled workers were needed.

    Monash University researcher Andrew Markus has estimated that of the 21 million Australians, a quarter were born abroad – twice the proportion of the population in the United States and three times that of Britain.

    Britain and New Zealand are still the largest source countries, but almost every country is represented.
